Pauline Marcenko of Assiniboia, SK, passed away with family by her side on May 15, 2021. She will be forever lovingly remembered by her daughters Sherry (Mike Frankiw), Carla (Tim Crosbie); grandchildren Shannon (Clay Moneo), Chad Odsen, Jeremy Odsen, Nicki (Scott Monilaws), Kara Utri, great-grandchildren Matt, Madison, Merit, and Mavryk Moneo, Alexis (Lance Montgomery), Zaida, and Olivia Odsen, Rylan and Jayda Monilaws, and Delano Utri; great-great-grandchildren Ava, Greyson, and Laiken. She is also remembered by her brothers Paul Maffenbeier (Charlotte), Clarence Maffenbeier (Heather), and sister Gertie Nekurak. Pauline was predeceased by her parents Barbara and Phillip Maffenbeier , her husband William, her daughter Sandra and son in-law Darryl Odsen, her brother Peter Maffenbeier and brother in-law Orest Nekurak.
Pauline was born in Billimun, SK on March 15, 1937. Pauline married William Marcenko on October 1955, being were married 57 years until his passing. Pauline was a working mother, always worked in Customer Service industry. She worked at Glausers for many years as well as White Cross Drugs, Shoppers Drugs, Carol's Creations, and Thrifty Foods. Pauline was a lifelong member of the Royal Purple.
Pauline always had a beautiful garden and flowers, the home was kept immaculate, and the door was always open for a visit and a drink. After William passed away, Pauline moved to Eastside Court, were she really enjoyed visiting with the other ladies in the building, especially the times they spent outside on the chairs at the front door. Many memories were shared and stories told. Pauline also cherished her visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they all knew where to find that covered Smarties dish that she kept stocked for their visits.
Pauline was able to live independently at Eastside Court until hospitalized - thanks to the staff of Five Hills Health Region Services; the Homecare visits, assistance, compassion, and friendship truly were instrumental in her maintaining an enjoyable quality of life.
A family service was held at Ross Funeral Chapel Assiniboia, SK. Father Dennis Remot officiated. Tribute by granddaughter Shannon. Pallbearers were: Clay Moneo, Matt Moneo, Merit Moneo, Bret Maffenbeier, Kim Eklund, Michael Pryce. Interment followed in Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK.
