How do you say goodbye? Early memories of childhood, the humour, the similarities to my dad... They were so damned alike. So alike they could fool my children. When I was 7 I learned how to ride a bike. My cousins Reg and Dave spent the time trying to keep my dumb ass upright, but it was at my Uncle Percy's place and I felt safe and at home. I always felt safe and at home with my Uncle Percy. Godspeed.

Percy, you were a great brother in law. Quiet and quirky you were, and although I didn’t visit enough, you always had something smart to say and make me laugh. Plus, you made the best rhubarb cake ever, and although you wrote down the recipe for me, I’m thinking you purposely left something out because mine never turned out as good as yours!
You will be missed Percy, Rest In Peace!

Dad, I would have felt lucky to have you as a friend, but to have you as my Dad I am truly blessed. You are my hero. You were always kind and gentle, your "something like Dad would make" became a favorite you were hard working and a brilliant teacher. Thanks Dad. I love you, and don't worry "I'll look after em bud". Now go get some Lemon Meringue pie from Granny. We love you.

Dad, you were the best of blokes.
13 years ago I was lucky enough to have two amazing Gillespie men enter my life. When I met your son I was also blessed with you as my second Dad. You have been a unwavering source of support, acceptance and love, through good and difficult times. Never a man of many words, when you did speak, how you made those words count.
I am proud to tell your grand-daughters about their Grandpa.
How I miss you.
As you would say Dad - "10 more than you can say."
Your daughter-in-law Tamieka

Percy is the last of my 6 brothers, kind and gentle.
He loved his family, and was a great carpenter.
I can only imagine the welcome he got from our other brothers and sisters in Heaven.
God love you, Percy...rest now
Love & prayer,
marilyn
