Ronald Wallace Skogstad

(1935 - 2011)

Ronald was born November 7, 1935, at Bengough, SK, the third child of Everett and Ethel. He grew up in the Big Beaver district, and then moved to Bengough to farm and work for Massey Ferguson. Ronald married Sheila Eskdale on October 21, 1960. He worked for a number of oil companies in the area for over 31 years and enjoyed every minute of work in the oil fields. Ronald passed away peacefully in the Weyburn General Hospital on December 4, 2011. Ronald loved hunting and teaching the hunter’s safety courses. He was always active with his children and grandchildren activities and sports.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughter, Ronna (Les) Thompson and their children: AJ, Raelynn, Kaitlynn, Mick, Justin, Kyle, and Devin; son, Aaron (Heather) Skogstad and their son Riley; son, Donald (Natasha) Skogstad; sisters: Joyce (Bill) Giblett, Connie (Ray) Boucher, Norma (Rick) Shaver, Sharon (Cliff) Brown, Audrey Weber and Thelma Giraudier, sister-in-law Della Skogstad, two aunts Muriel Lee and Ellen King, several nieces and nephews. Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Everett & Ethel; mother & father-in-law Donald & Theresa Eskdale; brother Duane Skogstad; brothers-in-law Lawrence Giraudier and Fred Weber and niece Carolyn Therrien. A Graveside Service was held December 9, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK. Lori Klein officiated. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK. Ronald will be missed by all who knew him.
