Sarah Juell was born on January 4, 1938 at Loreburn. SK. and passed away on February 7, 2021 in Assiniboia, SK. She was known for her tender heart, soft-spoken voice, and kindness to all. She faithfully served her husband and family in so many ways. She met Leonard Juell and they married on Oct. 5th, 1957 in Assiniboia. They have five children: Glenda Lambert, Marlin (Jody) Juell, Faith (Brynle) Griffin, Levaughn (Ray) Virgoe, and Launa (Martin) Buschau; grandchildren: Vanessa (Brett) Baseden, Allison Lambert, Shaelyn (Clinton) Prado, Jesse Juell, Caleb (Amy) Griffin, Charity (Reece) Millar, Sydney & Kaylee Buschau; great-grandchildren: Cameron, Piper, Gus, Imagen, Morgan, & Jack. She is also survived by her sister Olga, and brothers Sterling (Pat) and Glen (Pauline). Sarah is predeceased by her parents Jacob and Eva Dueck, and brothers Paul, and John. Sarah was the oldest of six children and could only speak German. When she started school, she had to learn to speak English. She attended school in Davidson, Coleman, and Moose Jaw. She was proud to have perfect attendance record at least in Coleman, AB. After marrying, they lived with Len's parents for a time because the roads were blocked that winter to the house where they lived in the country. They moved to Moose Jaw where Len worked for Loomis for a short time, then to Regina where Len worked for Sarah’s Uncle Jake in construction, eventually returning to the farm. Life on a farm always had its challenges, and Sarah met them head-on. Many times, you would find Sarah helping with the dairy cows, helping cows give birth and nursing calves. Chickens, pigs and many other assorted animals could be found on the farm and Sarah learned the skills needed to keep the farm going, all the while raising children and getting them off to school. Sarah excelled at cooking, baking and cleaning. Her cinnamon buns, homemade bread, chocolate cake and cookies were rivalled by no one. She could whip up a full course meal in no time flat even when company came unexpectedly, and the house was always spotless. Later, Len would take on custom haying, pastoring, and construction work, all with their unique set of challenges for Sarah. Again, she excelled in her role as wife, assistant, helper, and in prayer ministry for people. In 2010, Leonard sold the farm, retired and they moved to Calgary to be closer to their daughters. In 2017 Sarah suffered a stroke and ended up in the hospital for a considerable time. He resided in the Fanning Centre and the Brentwood Home. It was her constant desire to be able to return home so the family arranged for several visits home if only for a day, or a weekend. In 2020, the opportunity came to move back to Saskatchewan. They sold the house in Calgary and moved back. This was a miracle of God, for the day after Sarah moved out of the home, it went into lockdown due to COVID-19, several residents in that home contracted Covid-19 and some died. However, Sarah's prayer was answered. She made the trip back to Saskatchewan and found a residence awaiting her with the help of the family. With the help of Homecare and other nurses, Leonard now was able to have Sarah at home full time. The last days she lived were very happy now, having Leonard with her at home. Unfortunately, Sarah experienced a second stroke and was not able to recover. She is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus whom she loved so dearly. She will be missed by all, and cherished for her love of others, and endless sacrifice to bless others. A Celebration of Sarah’s Life was held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Oasis Outreach Church, Assiniboia, SK. Worship was led by Jody, Marlin, Shaelyn, Jesse and Caleb. Tribute presented by daughter Glenda and her brother Glen. Pallbearers were: Martin Buschau, Caleb Griffin, Clinton Prado, Brett Baseden, Cameron Lambert and Ray Virgoe. Music was led by Jody, Shaelyn, Clinton and Jesse. Interment followed at Davyroyd Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy for the Juell family may be shared at www.rossfuneralservice.com.
