Therese Bruneau (nee Cayer) born February 22, 1926 at Willow Bunch, SK, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2014 at the age of 88 years, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s. Predeceased by her husband Jean Denis, she is survived by her children Andre, Doraine (Emile Desautels), Claude (Carmel), Liliane, Michel (Colleen), and Aline. Therese married Denis Bruneau on June 25, 1950. In the early years of their marriage, they operated a local dairy in town, along with working carpentry and mixed farming. They eventually moved to the homestead where they did solely mixed farming, and kept very busy raising six children. Therese always had a large garden, and was active with the Catholic Women’s League and Willow Bunch Catholic church. In 1982, Denis and Therese built a new home in town, but Denis still returned to the farm often. They managed to celebrate their 45th anniversary on June 1995, which was their last anniversary as Denis died in September of 1995 after a farming accident. Therese began to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease which became progressively worse each year. Her health deteriorated, but she remained strong. She was eventually admitted to Ross Payant Nursing Home, where she resided for the last thirteen years and where God finally came to get her to take her to a more peaceful place. She will be greatly missed by her children, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. We love you.
