Vivian’s passing leaves to mourn her brothers, Marc (Lois) Giraudier, Leonard (Valerie) Giraudier, and her sister-in-law Thelma Giraudier as well as numerous other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and Harvey’s children Kim (Brent) Drozda, Ken Newkirk and Brad (Candice) Newkirk.
Vivian was born March 24, 1939 at Coronach, SK and grew up on a ranch in the beautiful Big Muddy Valley. In her early 20’s, Vivian was an airline stewardess with Air Canada and later attended the University of Regina and graduated with a Bachelor of Education. She taught high school and elementary school in the separate school system until her mid-fifties. Her empathy and compassion for children and animals were always evident as she drew them like magnets. Vivian loved to play cards and travel and she enjoyed many family vacations in Canada and abroad with her family. A talented artist and an amazing cook, Vivian would often peruse her library of cookbooks to prepare the perfectly prepared meal for special occasions.
It was a privilege to know her, to call her wife, mother, grandma, sister and aunt. Vivian’s last days were made comfortable by the exceptional staff at the Regina Pasqua Hospital Palliative Unit and Grace Hospice, whose compassion and care are greatly appreciated by her family.
Vivian’s Celebration of Life will be held at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Church, Willow Bunch, SK on July 9, 2013 at 2pm. Donations in Vivian’s memory may be made to Prevent Cancer Now.
