

Robert (Jimmy) James was called to join his loving wife and daughter on August 19, 2016. Jimmy was a very quiet man who kept to himself yet he loved to dance. Born on September 16, 1925 to Thomas and Alexander Lyons he was the middle child of his siblings Stanley, Lennie, Tommy and sister Debbie they lived on 112 W117th Street.
In 1943 at the age of 18years old Jimmy joined the military (SQ SR 4505TH AAFBU) during his tour in the military he attended a dance at the Savoy Ballroom where he met his wife Gladys Elizabeth James in 1944, the two went on to Marry in August 1947.
In 1955 they had a daughter Ernestine P. James who was the world to him. Jimmy was very independent relying on his skills and knew how to survive. He was never one to blame yet accept responsibility for his actions. He loved to fly kites and travel, he saw a lot during his 90 years on earth.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his five grandchildren Robert, Richard, Jamal, Antoine, and Shatees and fourteen great- grandchildren, Ernestine, Jace, Robert, Kaleb, Gladys, Miracle, Asai, Amare, Ajohn, Jamal, Aaliyha, Ciamana, Piage and Raeligh .
