Alberta Queen Schuetz, born February 20, 1928 in the city of Santa Ana, California, graduated from this life's tests and is now enjoying the comfort and joys of heaven afforded all those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. Her father and mother, George and Minnie (McQueen) Schuetz, provided for their family by farming locally and selling produce door to door.
She was a long time resident of Atascadero; nearly 80 years. Most of her life was spent on the family farm, although she also worked for County Home Healthcare as an aide and was known for the high quality of care she gave; and not surprising, for she tenderly cared for her beloved mother, father, sister, brother, brother-in-law, and finally another sister as they encountered various sicknesses and eventually each one passed through death.
She attended the Atascadero Gospel Chapel for most of her life. She enjoyed orchard farming, canning, bookreading, music, and a frugal lifestyle. Although single and outliving her siblings, she did not die lonely. Her last five years were spent as part of a family in Atascadero and she had many loving friends and visitors especially at the end of her days.
Alberta was said to be a favorite by loving Hospice workers. She had a notable wit. Her humor, strong will, and tireless caring for her family and patients around the county will be long remembered by friends here on earth.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Atascadero District Cemetery. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Atascadero Gospel Chapel with a reception to follow.
