Charles Albert Reagan

On Friday, November 23rd, heaven gained a very special angel. Charles Albert Reagan Jr. went to be with the Lord at the age of 87. Charles was born December 3rd, 1930 in Harrison, New Jersey to Charles and Nora Reagan. He attended Holy Cross Grammar School and graduated from Saint Benedict’s Preparatory High School in 1948. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. He went on to join the United States Air Force and became a Lieutenant and pilot who flew B-29 bombers. While stationed in Arizona, he met the love of his life. She was a beautiful southern belle named Joan Doone Fish. After marrying, Joan and Charles moved to Santa Monica, CA, where Charles furthered his education at USC and graduated with a Doctorate in Pharmacy. He was the owner and operator of Reagan’s Fireside Pharmacy until 1980, when the family relocated to San Luis Obispo County. Charles continued his pharmaceutical career working at Thrifty’s and Rite Aid until his retirement. Charles had a jovial, spirited character, a warm smile and a twinkle in his eyes that was very endearing to all who came in contact with him. Always the life of the party, he had a passion for storytelling and loved sharing and reminiscing about days gone by. In his youth, Charles was a talented baseball player who was known for his wicked left handed fastball. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, boating, gardening, gold panning and metal detecting. He enjoyed music and was especially talented in playing the harmonica. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Charles was preceded in death by his father Charles Sr. and Mother Nora, his beautiful wife Joan and his oldest son Charles. He is survived by his daughter Laura and her husband Dave; his son Richard and wife Tracey; his son John; his daughter Joann and her husband Bennett; eight grandchildren; April, Joan, Kilee, Joshua, Allyson, Noelle, Hannah and Sean and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger brother John Reagan and sister Betty Kramer and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. A private family service will be held at Templeton Cemetery December 14th.
