Diana Gail (Ingersoll) Sorensen went into the presence of the Lord at home on Sunday March 19, 2017. She is now dancing (probably the cowboy waltz), riding a horse, and singing with Jesus, where she is also now free from the pain of her terrible cancer. Diana was born October 27, 1951 in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Torrance, California, where she graduated from North Torrance High School. Soon after high school graduation she fulfilled her dream of owning horses, and was never without her herd of “boys” for the rest of her life. In 1987 she married Paul Sorensen and together they raised the pride of her life, Chance. She dedicated her married life to serving her family and others. “I’m going to live until I die” was her motto, and she lived every day with unrelenting joy. She often said, “God put me here for a purpose. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.” She fiercely guarded her time with her family and gave her all to Chance’s athletic endeavors, driving endless miles and countless hours traveling to ice hockey, football, basketball, and baseball practices and games. She loved her part-time job as a personal assistant on a large, local ranch and enjoyed teaching P.E. for a few years at North County Christian School. After getting her A.A. in Library Sciences, she found great joy working as the librarian at NCCS. Her infectious smile and tremendous joy brightened the life of everyone with whom she came in contact. She always found delight in the smallest and simplest of things. Every day that she spent on horseback, which was as often as possible, was “the Best Day Ever.” She absolutely loved packing and camping with the horses in the Sierra backcountry. Above all else, she loved the Word of God and was unabashedly bold in her faith. She truly touched many lives, and will be deeply missed. In her final days, she wanted everyone to know that “all is well is my soul”. Survivors include husband Paul Sorensen of Paso Robles, California and son Chance of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. It was Diana’s wish to have a celebration of her life where there would be “dancing in the aisles”. A service will be held on April 8 at 3:00 PM at Creston Community Church, followed immediately with a reception behind the church.
