Born Dorothy Reddick, June 1916, to William and Achsah Reddick, in Montebello, CA. She graduated from Broadoaks School of Education Whittier College in 1939. Her passion was teaching. She taught in the Hudson School District for 29 years and she taught Sunday school classes since the age of 13.
She married Charles Bennett, Dec. 20, 1945 in La Puente, CA. They had 2 children, son, Bill and daughter, Joyce.
Dorothy and her husband retired in 1975 and moved to Atascadero where she continued to teach Sunday school classes until she was no longer able to hear what the children were saying.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles Bennett. She is survived by son, Bill Bennett of Rialto, CA; daughter, Joyce Richert of Atascadero; grandchildren Jordan Bennett, Sarah Ferguson, Charles Bennett, David Richert, Jon Richert and 6 great grandchildren.
