

Ernie N French Jr, of Atascadero California, went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2015. He was born on September 3rd, 1942 in Yakima, Washington from the proud parents of Esther and Ernie French Sr. He spent his childhood growing up in Selah, Washington. Later, attending Kings Garden High School in Seattle, Washington, were he met and then married his beloved wife, Barbara French of 52 years. In high school he played football, basketball and baseball and was an avid sports fan. After high school, he enlisted and served in the Army from 1961 - 1964 and was stationed in Germany. He married his high school sweetheart in Basel Switzerland in 1963. They spent their first 18 months of marriage in Germany and had the privilege of visiting 15 countries together with great memories. They later had three children.
He worked in the sales business for many years. This included sales of boats, cars and insurance. He worked as a peace officer at Atascadero State Hospital for approximately 23 years. Some of his interests, include sharing his testimony and faith in Christ, praying for others and occasionally preaching at various churches. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and would spark up a conversation with anyone, making new friends.
He is survived by his wife Barbara French. Son, Ernie French III and daughter in law, Teresa French, daughters, Debbie French and Shelley Wood. Grandchildren Joshua Wood, Kaala Wood, Selah Wood,Tiffany Hetrick and Anthony Carroll. Great grandchildren Codi Carroll, Gabriel Carroll and McKayla Clark. Sisters Katie Orchard and Janie Siegel and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his father and mother and sisters Karolynn Dekker and Arlene Ledford.
A graveside service will be held at the Atascadero (Pine Mountain) Cemetery Saturday, December 5th, at 10am. Followed by a celebration of life service at 11 am at Atascadero Bible Church, 6225 West Mall, Atascadero, CA.
