Gloria Jean O'Farrell Gloria Jean O'Farrell was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado on February 6, 1946, to Delbert and Dorothy Wittenauer. She and her twin brother Jerry were the oldest of eight siblings. As such, she helped care for and raise her younger siblings. Some still refer to her as "mother-sister." When she was one year old, the family moved to her father's home town of Hubbard, Ohio. At age 14, Gloria moved with her family to California and she attended Westminster High School. In her senior year she was "Miss Midway City," in the Orange County Beauty Pageant. Gloria met her future husband, Terry when she was 14 and babysitting for Terry's nephews. They didn't date until she was 17 and Terry was in college. Terry was drafted into the U.S. Army and one year after his return from a tour in Vietnam, they were married. They were blessed with three children: Kimberly, Laura and Terry. Gloria was strong in her Catholic faith and taught Sunday school classes at their local parish in Orange County. Gloria supported and encouraged Terry through his long years of college and law school. In 1977, Terry, who was a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, was offered a position with the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office and the family moved to Atascadero. Forty-one years later they still lived in the same house. The children all attended Atascadero schools. Gloria worked for the school district from 1979 to 2003, first a yard supervisor and then as a clerical office aide. She was active in the Atascadero Quota Club and chaired their gourmet cooking committee. Gloria loved travelling, cooking, dancing and socializing with friends and family. She became active in local politics as a member of the Atascadero Republican Women's Club. She also served with her husband as a member of the county Republican Committee. Gloria passed to her Heavenly Father on March 15, 2018, after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
