Born June 21, 1933, in Hunan, China, Horng-Ing developed a love of learning from an early age. He was a teacher, engineer, and talented theoretical physicist, and earned a doctorate from the renowned physics department at Columbia University in 1968. He published extensively on his work in neutron resonance spectroscopy, then went on to develop innovations in silicon chip fabrication until he retired from technical pursuits. At the same time he was a devoted husband and father. Later in life, he directed his time toward studying the bible and sharing his knowledge and love of God.
Horng-Ing is survived by Alice, his beloved wife of 56 years; his daughter Lily and son-in-law Mark and their children, Brian and Eric; and his daughter Lisa and son-in-law John and their children, Zachary and Maxwell. He is remembered lovingly for always finding the time to indulge and support his children and grandchildren in their interests and pursuits.
