I met Victor one time at the grocery store in May. We kept running into each other and kept laughing about it. When I went back out to my car, there he was, randomly parked across from my car. We laughed again. I had sprained my ankle badly, so he offered to return my cart for me. Before he did, we spent the next 45 minutes standing in the parking lot behind my parked car, while he told me so many stories about his life. He kept saying "I don't know why I keep telling you these things, but..." and he'd tell me another story. It was the strangest, most awesome interaction ever. He gave me his name, and I never saw him again, though I looked for his car every time.
6 months later, I happened to pick up a copy of New Times, opened it right up to the obituary and saw his name. I felt compelled to go to the funeral. 
I don't know if Victor was a good or bad guy. I don't know what kind of person he was in life. But I do know that for that one day, he made such an impression upon my soul that I HAD to go to his funeral 6 months later after only meeting him once. My guess is he was an amazing soul.

Frank and I had the pleasure of spending many evening’s with Bonnie & Victor.  Amazingly, after spending all day at the restaurant, Victor was always willing to go out to dinner with us, and share his “restaurant” stories.  There’s not a doubt in my mind he and Frank aren’t again, sitting and sharing their stories together.



I had the privilege to know Victor for 18 years. Since day one I admired the way he was and how welcoming he was with me. when I started working for Touch of Paso Restaurant where he was the head cook, even when I was at my lowest he never gave up on me and kept teaching me how to be a great cook and I’ll always keep that in my heart. My condolences to all the family and May the Lord bring comfort and peace to all.

Victor was a good man.  As his dentist, I enjoyed getting to know him over the years and his dedication and care for Bonnie.  I could tell he was a genuine man that was a hard worker and someone of character.  May you rest in peace Victor.
