John moved onward while surrounded by family members and lots of love. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Eleanor Jones on January 21, 1962. John moved to Los Angeles, California in mid 1980’s and struggled to gain his footing in the big city. With the help of a few friends, he found his way onto a path where he met (1988) and married his wife, Rachel on September 22, 1990. John and Rachel had two boys, Scott and Josh. John took his stepsons Eric and Joe under his wing as well. His boys were his soft spot. He taught all four sons a love of the outdoors, to help others, how to look for creative solutions, how to work on cars...and when it was time to kick the car and buy a “special” tool! John had a passion for riding motorcycles, camping, watching movies with great friends and good food. John had a great sense of humor that, at times, was a little questionable. (Hahaha!)
In the 1980’s to early 1990’s John worked as a machinist at DPI in Pomona. In 1997 until 2017, he was a loyal employee (machinist and programmer) for Sunbank in Paso Robles, California which manufactures various components for luxury and military aircraft.
John is survived by; Wife, Rachel Jones, Children; Scott, Joshua with wife Larissa Jones, grandson Walter, his two stepsons, Eric and Joseph Cerecedes, Sisters; Margaret Lattimore, Shirley Mitchell and Godmother Maria Quintero.
Preceded in death by; Parents, Walter and Eleanor and his brother, Michael Jones.
Our family is grateful for the loving support of the (anonymous) community in Atascadero, his employer, Sunbank and relieved that John no longer suffers but rests in God's hands where we will all meet again.
