Jon Alvie Everett

September 26, 1960November 5, 2018

I was born September 26th, 1960, in San Rafael, CA. I spent my early childhood years on Vine Street in Paso Robles, CA. My grade school years were spent in Morro Bay, CA. My secondary school years were spent in Atascadero, Ca, where I graduated from High School in 1978. The vast majority of my working career was at Zurn Wilkins in Paso Robles, CA, where I stayed approximately 34 years, in the Pipe, Valve, and Fitting business. I wish to thank my parents, Neal and June for bringing me into this world and for their guidance through this point in my life. I also want to thank my brother, Yantzee for his support, I want to take this opportunity to thank my loving Wife Lisa, for taking care of me through this transition, after 32 years of marriage! I also wish to thank my children and their spouses Neal (Chloe), Gabby (Kevin), and my grandson Nikola for their support and care. I also want to thank my friends at Scotty's Under ground studios Scott and Ephraim Sommers for the countless hours of joy I derived from playing music in the studio on Friday nights. I also want to thank Michael Antonette and Steven Eddie, and life long friends John and Jimmy Gleason, for the many late night camping jams and all of their support through the years. Thanks to Jason and Darren Coombs for their support. Jason taught me everything I know about the guitar. I also want to thank Brian Stark for teaching me how to lay down a bass line. Brian always said, "if you buy used musical instrument, it really isn't used until you play it, it was just previously owned." I also want to deeply thank my colleagues at Zurn Wilkins and our Representative Organizations for their support. There is no other group of people like them. I love and respect each and every one of you.

After the graveside service, a lunch will be hosted at Zurn Wilkins at 1747 Commerce Way in Paso Robles, California.

Jon was the utmost resource in our industry for all things backflow. Not only was he a great help in our industry, but he was just great to listen to. His story telling was legendary. My heart is saddened by his passing, and that he will no longer be there to greet us when we get to Paso. You will forever live in our hearts and online video. Paso will not be the same.

I learned of Jon's passing from the Current Zurn Wire. I wish I had known sooner. My heart is broken for Jon's family but also, for the loss of a dear friend. I had the privilege of having Jon in Middle Tennessee on several occasions. We became good friends. He loved coming to Tennessee because, as he called it, all of the green. He fell in love with the Middle Tennessee hills and I would always budget time so I could drive him around the countryside. As we drove, we talked and developed a great bond of friendship. I shall cherish that friendship forever.

Jon was one of the finest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. His unbelievable product knowledge and easygoing manner was refreshing and I always had confidence that Jon would be able to help me out in any situation. My only regret is that I did not live closer to Jon in order to deal with him
in person. Jon you will be truly missed.

Everyone in the Zurn family knew Jon as the guru who had all the answers to the toughest questions. I was fortunate to work just a few steps away from Jon for most of the last 11 years. Jon answered so many of my questions and taught me a lot. However, he left an even bigger impact on my life with his friendship. His door was always open and I value every conversation we had. He was truly an incredible person and I will miss him.

My heart goes out to Lisa and the Everett family for their loss. I am truly saddened by Jon's passing.
Although I knew Lisa through my previous work as a child daycare provider, I did not meet Jon until I started at Zurn-Wilkins. From the beginning he would guide me through, and teach me about, the intricacies of back flow. He would become more than a coworker, but also a good friend and would continue to be through my 21 years at Zurn.
There is a saying that as long as a man is remembered, he will never truly be gone.
I will always remember Jon as a man who was a leader in his field and a knowledgeable teacher, a man who was dedicated to his work, a man who was devoted to his family and who cherished the time he could spend with them.
But most of all, I will always remember Jon as a good man, a kind man, a man I am proud to say was my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Everett family and I am very sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to know Jon professional and he was always eager to help and one of the most knowledgeable people on backflow I have ever met . Even though he truly mastered the products that he represented he could explain them in such a way that anyone could understand and benefit from his vast knowledge. Anyone that has known him or worked with him had nothing but the best to say about him. Lisa and family I know this time is full of much sorrow but know that Jon will be remember and respected for many years to come.

An absolute legend has been lost. I've known Jon for every day of my 19 years as a Wilkins rep in NYC. Jon was the utmost authority on all things backflow, and pressure regulation. On top of his unparalleled knowledge, Jon was an outstanding instructor and an amazing teacher. Everything I've ever known about Wilkins has come directly from Jon. I've had the pleasure of meeting Jon several times, and shared a few meals with him as well. My condolences to Lisa, and Jon's entire family. Please know that he has left an indelible mark on our firm as whole, and his colleagues in NYC will never forget Jon. I'm assuming all the all the plumbing systems are running much smoother up in heaven now, as the best to ever do it has joined them now.
