

Joseph John Jordan 91, peacefully passed away at his home in Atascadero on September 11, 2015. Joseph was born in Etna, Pennsylvania on January 6, 1924. Joseph served in the 104 Infantry Division during World War II. After his discharge from the Army he moved to California and met his future wife Miriam (Mickey) Friedman and were married in 1947. Miriam passed away 19 years ago. Joseph attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo studying horticulture and relocated to Ventura, Ca and started a nursery and landscape construction company. It was here in Ventura that they raised their five children. After raising their family Joseph built their new home in Atascadero and relocated in 1975, establishing a nursery and Christmas Tree farm. After closing the nursery in 1997 Joseph began his love of woodworking in building toys and trains. He also loved the great outdoors hiking and backpacking with his sons and grandsons. Joseph is survived by his loving family, son Paul (daughter-in-law Lorna and grandchildren Greg and wife Sasha, Caren Scott and husband Jamaal and great grandchildren Jacob Scott and Tohpia Jordan), son David (spouse Kit Davenport), daughter Jo-Ann Wallace (son-in-law Bruce and grandchildren Dylan, great grandchild Alexandria Wallace, Wesley and wife Shannon great grandchildren Jordan and Levi Wallace), daughter Carrie Collins (son-in-law Larry and grandchildren Tanya, great grandson Billy Beal Jeff, Glen and wife Jazmine, and Leah), son Joseph (daughter-in-law Laurie). A viewing will be held at Chapel of the Roses, 3450 El Camino Real, Atascadero on September 25, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The burial and service will be held at Atascadero Pine Mountain Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Atascadero on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
