Linda Sue Hobbs, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Torrance, CA on November 6, 1944 to Tom and Dorothea Davies and moved to Paso Robles, CA in 1957. Her family were active members of the First Baptist Church, and she graduated from Paso Robles High School in 1962, where she served as head cheerleader and was Homecoming Queen in both her sophomore and senior years.
On January 3, 1964, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Hobbs, and together they built a marriage that lasted nearly 62 years, filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Linda is survived by her husband Bill, and by her children: Jon Hobbs of Modesto, CA (wife Ralphena), Rick Hobbs of Atascadero, CA, Teri Quale of Tucson, AZ (husband Tony), and Cindi Enriquez of Atascadero, CA. She was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren, great-grandmother of 16 great-grandchildren and great- great- grandmother of 1, all of whom she spoke about every chance she got.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, her son-in-law, Gavin and her daughter-in-law, Gina.
Linda was well known to the community through her years working at Safeway, Williams Bros., Thrifty’s, and Rite Aid, where customers and coworkers adored her. People often recognized her cheerful voice and her contagious laugh that carried “aisles away,”. At Christmastime, she brought joy to everyone by wearing twinkling lights in her hair — a tradition that became a signature part of her warmth and humor.
Linda was the life of the party and could put on an unforgettable spread at any potluck she attended. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, seen, and loved. The hole she leaves behind is immeasurable and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life in Linda’s honor will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Atascadero Gospel Chapel located at 8205 Curbaril Avenue in Atascadero. Reception to immediately follow.
