

Lois Leon Scamara was born July 19, 1928 in Merced, Calif., to Leon and Maude Sharp and passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at French Hospital after a courageous battle with chronic lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL).
Lois lived her first 8 years in Big Sur, CA while her father managed workers building Highway 1. She then moved to Keene, CA where she lived with her family for 7 years. Her family then moved to Shell beach and she graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1946.
Lois married Robert Silvio Scamara on January 18, 1947 in Arroyo Grande, CA.
Lois and Bob moved to various cities in California, while Bob was working for CalTrans building highway 101; Salinas, Monterey, King City, San Luis Obispo and finally settling in Atascadero, CA in 1958.
Lois loved her family and friends, decorating her home, camping, watching the wildlife in her backyard and her cat and constant companion, Smokey.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Silvio Scamara and her brother Jack Sharp.
Lois is loved by her surviving brother Stan (Jeanette) Sharp and 5 surviving children: Sandy (David) O’Connor, Russell (Karen) Scamara, Daniel (Cathi) Scamara, Cathy (Tim) Blair and Barbara (Terry) Madonna.
She is also loved by her 15 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren:
Cassidy, Shila, Corey, Kira, Casey, Lara, Luke, Latia, Dustin, Bailey, Logan, Danny Jr., Dylan, Emily, Lea, Tiffany and Shawn.
And 12 great grandchildren:
Brianna, Caedra, Grant, Drake, Ava, Rafe, Brixson, Isabella, Colton, Cameron, Braden, Robert and one more grandson on the way and more to come.
Lois was helped tremendously by Wilshire Hospice and the terrific staff at French Hospital.
