Mary Giovanna Chambers

CHAMBERS, Mary Giovanna, passed away on October 20, 2015 in Menlo Park, CA at the age of 68. Mary was born in Atascadero, CA at the Atascadero General Hospital. She grew up on a ranch on Highway 58 in Santa Margarita for the first years of her life. At the age of 11, Mary and her family moved from Santa Margarita to Menlo Park. She graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1965. It was in high school where she first met her husband, Irvin. After a tour with the Navy, Mary and Irvin reunited and eloped on October 21, 1975. They were married for 40 years.

In her spare time, Mary enjoyed camping and fishing. She especially loved researching her family genealogy. Mary and her husband were members of Los Califorianos Historical Society, and enjoyed learning about their family roots and history in the state of California, which goes back at least 240 years.

Mary is survived by her husband of 40 years, Irvin Chambers. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and two brothers in laws. Mary was predeceased by her parents and brother.

Mary will be laid to rest in the Santa Margarita Cemetery with other members of her family on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. The family humbly requests donations in Mary’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
