Molly Beth Meier

September 19, 1960February 10, 2016

Molly Beth Meier of Santa Margarita died February 10, 2016. She was born September 19, 1960, in Muskegon, MI, to Helen “Pat” and Robert Meier. Her family moved to Santa Barbara, CA, when she was 13 and she attended Santa Barbara Junior High and Santa Barbara High School. She also studied briefly at Tahoe Community College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Molly worked as a rural postal carrier in San Luis Obispo for many years and raised her family in the Los Osos community. She was known for her free spirit and huge heart. Molly had a ready and brilliant smile, and was always willing to help others in need and put everyone before herself. She loved the outdoors, her pets, and was very fond of horses. She dreamed of having her own mini ranch where she could have horses of her own. Despite the daily challenges and juggling of life, she never lost her faith and remained optimistic. Molly cared very deeply for her family and friends and will always have a special place in our hearts. She is survived by her daughter Jayna Barba, son Jason Barba, granddaughter Kaylen, sister Cherie Meier (Kerry Provancha), sister Marcia Meier, brother Chuck Meier, many other members of the Meier, Barba and McKinney families, as well as some very dear friends. A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the South Bay Community Center 2180 Palisades Ave. Los Osos, CA 93402. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made through Bank of America account #444012417577, routing #064000020. *Please feel free to bring printed pictures, poems, stories to share and/or to add to a memory book for the family to keep.

Whenever I think of my cousin Molly, it leads to a big smile. I never saw her without a smile on her face. It was such a tragedy she was taken from us so soon. We will all miss her.

Molly was "Cherie's little sister" while we were growing up. I was so glad to reconnect to the adult Molly at our Meier family reunion in 2008. She was a gracious guest in our home, and we both had a lot of fun with all our cousins that week. May we all reconnect in heaven some day.

RIP Molly Beth. I know you are free and its taking me a little time to realize that you are really gone. I had the pleasure of knowing you back when you started dating my brother Mike and eventually marrying him. I had so much fun through our journey of life and truly feel blessed to have known you. We certainly had our share of fun, serious talks and I will miss those words of wisdom from you. I am so glad I am still able to see you and Mike through your beautiful children Jayna, Jason and your adorable granddaughter Kayleen. What gifts you gave to all of us. I never thought I would see this ending, but know it's only temporary and I too will see you soon. God Bless and Rest in Peace. Your free to fly...

We were deeply saddened to hear of Molly's passing. My memories of her go all the way back to our lives in Muskegon, Michigan, as her older sister Cherie and I have been friends for many, many years. I know that Molly is now with her parents and is at peace.

For all the family of Molly, I send my love and prayers to each and every one of you.

I did not know Molly well, but my few encounters with her were very positive, she was a kind and loving soul. I will not forget her.
