She was proceeded in death by the love of her life, Jim McCormac.
Her childhood years were spent happily playing house, make believe, Cowboys and Indians,
catching trapdoor spiders, skating, and other childhood fantasies in Van Nuys, Fontana,
Colton, and Los Angeles California.
She was a journalist for most of her adult life. In the 1980's through the early 2000's she worked for Ahwatukee Foothill News in Arizona, eventually becoming the Managing Editor. She made many lifelong friends while working there.
She enjoyed her career, the stories she wrote, and the people she wrote about. She loved reading and always had a book going. She loved getting together with her many friends, and loved to swim. She loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, and later she moved fro San Diego to San Luis Obispo County to be closer to them.
She left behind two daughters, Deana Danelz and husband, JD; and Terri Spafford and husband, Richard: Grandchildren Desma Harvey, Anthony Harvey, Lea Harvey/ Lees and husband Kurt; and Jessie Spafford and wife Tracy; and Joe Spafford. She had a special relationship with all her great grandchildren, Connor, Jakai Mckenzie, Jane, Max, Cole, Harlow, and Ian.
She also left behind her sister, Penny Bonnot; two nieces, Trisha Somerville and Holly Dreeuws: a great nephew, Taine Dreeuws; and great nieces, Nicole Somerville and Paige Dreeuws.
Patty will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
