

Sharon Kay Costa also known as "Mamma Costa" was born in Portland, Oregon on September 11th, 1945. Her parents were Clara Fink and Arthur Luster. She grew up mostly in Pismo Beach, California. She attended Pismo High School.
Her sister Joan High and brother-in-law were a very big part of her life. She was close to her sister and enjoyed cooking, baking, and traveling together. They loved each other very much.
Sharon married the love of her life at 17 years old, John Gary Costa on December 15th, 1962. They had 3 beautiful children; Debbie, Mike, and Tim. John was a master cement mason. He traveled many miles for local work and out of town as well. Sharon worked over 20 years for Atascadero Unified School District. She began as a cafeteria substitute to becoming the Food Service Director for all of Atascadero schools. Sharon's husband passed away in 2006 and she spent the next 20 years with her growing family. She loved spending time with them. They gave her great joy.
She was part of the weight loss support group TOPS and developed many wonderful friendships there. She taught English as a second language. She also loved attending to her gardening and dogs. Mom loved to crochet and made many blankets for family and Veteran's. She loved spending time at the beach and with family and her dogs.
Sharon passed away on May 13th, 2026. Her surviving family are her 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. On her last days, Sharon was surrounded by many family members and close friends.
