I met Book Man 14 years ago at my girlfriend Lorinda s house in Templeton. We became fast friends and I found him to be a very interesting person and even though we did not agree on politics we got along very good and had a great friendship! He always had something interesting to say and was very intelligent. I always enjoyed his joke of the day and loved his song on his answering machine that he sang himself, the Doors song, people are strange! I'm gonna miss ol Booker very much, he was my friend and one of a kind real special guy! REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND

I met Bookie 15 years ago at a mutual friends house and immediately took a liking to him. He was a unique and special person. He helped thru a very hard time in my life while I was grieving the loss of my Son. We both had the same favorite song, The Doors, "People are strange"! We both thought it suited the town of Templeton. We never could decide if it was the people in the town that were strange or if it was just us! I hadn't been to see him for a couple of years due to lack of transportation, but I always made sure to make him a Holiday meal and somehow get it to him! He loved my cooking  and  loved to eat! He never drive ,he walked more miles then anyone I've ever known! You could always tell it was him from a distance because of the long trench coat and Albert Einstein  flowing hair! His jokes were sometimes very crude and not so funny but you couldn't help but laugh at them anyways.He was a simple man who enjoyed rolling his own cigs and playing his ship games and taking care of his cats and reading books and recording baseball stuff. He may be gone but he will always be  in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him! RIP: STEVEN (BOOKMAN) MURRAY

Steve or as my friends and family and I have always lovingly called him, "Bookman" or "Bookie" was one of the smartest, sweetest, and most respectable human beings that I have ever known!He was very kind and was always ready to help anyway he could if anyone had a problem or needed assistance. He loved Books and has collected hundreds of them over the years! He was a very dear friend with a heart of gold and we will all miss him very much! He used to call me once a week and tell me his " Joke Dr jouir! He would make up a new one every week and it was always funny and cracked me up!! He always had cats and took very good care of them especially the runts or sickly ones he would keep them inside with him so he could protect them and give them xtra love. My heart is broken my friend left for Heaven suddenly and without any sign that there was anything wrong! They say it was an anyer ism in his brain that took his life!. Rest in Peace Steven , until we meet again! You may be gone but you will never be forgotten!
