Alfred Putman Black

Burial will be at Athens City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, October 30, 2015: 12-1:45 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mr. Black passed away Wednesday October 28, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital.

He was born February 8, 1926 in Limestone County, AL to Charles Marvin Black and Effie Reid Black. He was a retired General Motors dealer and past president of the Alabama Automobile dealers Association. He was a WWII Veteran, and a member of Rotary, Shriners and Red Elephant Club. He was an avid golfer.

Mr. Black is preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce S. Black, and one brother Charles Black.

He is survived by one son A.P. (AL) Black, Jr. and wife Missy of Navarre, FL, two daughters Wanda Bailey of Athens, Sharon Black of Athens, one sister Sheila B. Lauderdale and husband Don, three grandchildren Bart Sandlin, Whitnee Sandlin, and A.P. Black, III, two great grandchildren Hayden Sandlin and Isabella Sandlin.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Weatherford, Jimmy McDole, Ben Robinson, Dee Lauderdale, Pete Black, and Steve Smith.

In lieu of flowers make donations to Hospice of Limestone Co; or Wounded Warriors.
