Annie Mauldin Honeycutt
June 30, 1920 – April 5, 2018
Annie “Ann” Mauldin Honeycutt, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home in Killen, Alabama. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William Sloan Mauldin and Maggie Moody Mauldin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Justice and brother, James “Jay” Mauldin.
Ann worked at Dayco for 32 years and 7 months (almost 33 years). She was a member of the Barberville Baptist Church. In 2016 at the age of 96 Ann was chosen Queen at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. She enjoyed her friends and family. She loved to travel and visit family in Alabama and Florida. Ann loved the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley and Waynesville that were once her home. Even as her health declined she dreamed of her home and life in this area. As a young woman she, her sister and brother made up a trio that sang and played gospel music on Sundays at the Waynesville radio station WHCC.
Ann is survived by her three children, Edna Honeycutt Lacy (Chester), of Mobile, Alabama, Elaine Honeycutt White (Norman), of Saint Augustine, Florida and Terry Honeycutt (Marianna) of Killen, Alabama, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 14, in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home of Waynesville with the Reverend Kris Estep officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matt White, Forrest White, Jonathan Hill, Bradley Johnson, Justin Caldwell, and Tony McRee.
