The Graveside Service for Billy Jackson Swanner, 79, of Athens, will be Saturday October 13, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Athens City Cemetery with Jim Swanner officiating. Visitation will be Saturday October 13, 2018 from 12-1:45 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home. Mr. Swanner passed away on Monday October 8, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 16, 1939 in Limestone County, AL; to Joel Jackson Swanner and Bessie Pressnell Swanner. Mr. Swanner was survived by his loving wife Ann Swanner, one daughter Temple Ricketts, one sister Betty Hardage and husband Jim, one grandchild Denver Ricketts and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Morris Lindsey, Alvin White, Herschel Swanner, Grady Swanner, Frank Peete, W. M. Marsh, Don Stevenson, and Jim Griffis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Denver Ricketts and Ken Ricketts. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
