For the last thirteen years, he was a resident of Athens before passing to his rest on Sept 11, 2021 at the age of 79.
Charlie lived a full life that included his childhood in Athens, later graduating from Collegedale Academy in TN, then on to Florence State University, followed by 4-years of service in the Navy, which made him a Vietnam veteran.
He was an astute businessman, highly skilled in sales and could read people in a matter of seconds. This led to the successful expansion of California Contractors Supply, with his then business partner.
He loved the beauty of Destin, FL, and was a long time resident there before settling back into his hometown of Athens, AL.
He had a love for, and trust in, Jesus. A fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Alabama football - Roll Tide. He also loved his cat Kirby, and ever expanding family.
He is survived by his seven children: Melissa (Missy), Christopher (Chris), Jon-Michael, Charles (Chas), William (Max), Haley, and Hannah. Their mothers: Shugsie, Lynn, and Teal. And 14 grandchildren: Emily, Sam, Caleb, Joseph, Tyler, Mahlon, McKenzie, Ava, Kyler, Lilly, Caden, Colton, Kinley, and Kellan.

There will be a Memorial Service honoring the life of Charles at the State Line Seventh-day Adventist Church - Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 2pm.
