Clifford Christopher Baird Jr., 89, of Athens, Alabama, passed away from this earth on the 9th day of November 2025.
Mr. Baird is survived by his wife of 67 years (04/18/58), Sharrin Lee Cole Baird, his two sons; Christopher Baird (Mandy) of Manassas, Virginia and Steven Baird (Sherry) of Athens, Alabama; two grandchildren; Ashley Steenkamp (Casper) of South Africa, Ryan Lamberson of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Justin Baird of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and three great-grandchildren; Zoe, Caleb, and Jacob, all living in South Africa.
Clifford is preceded by his daughter; Kathy Baird, grandson; Brandon Lamberson, and parents; Clifford Christopher Baird Sr. and Retha Douthit Baird.
Mr. Baird was a member of Capshaw church of Christ. He led a godly life and was an example to all who crossed his path. He spent much of his life teaching the gospel in China, Taiwan, and in the US. He served the church in many different capacities over the years such as a minister, elder, and teacher. Cliff had degrees from Florida Christian College, Wayne State University, and Harding Graduate School of Religion and previously served as a member of the adjunct faculty for Oakland College, Faulkner University, and Southern Christian University. He was a published author for several bible study books as well. He also worked for many years at IBM as a computer programmer and later as Associate Director Of Datta Processing at Oakland Community College. Cliff will always be remembered as a faithful, devoted, and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and Christian. His friendly and joking character was loved by all and he will be truly missed.
The family will extend a memorial service at a later date for all that would like to celebrate the life of Clifford Christopher Baird, Jr.
