Daniel Ross Haraway

The graveside service for Daniel Ross Haraway, 65, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery with Greg Compton officiating.

Mr. Haraway passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital.

Daniel Haraway was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Morgan County to Buford Haraway and Estelle Siniard Haraway. He was a 1969 graduate of the University of North Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1973. Mr. Haraway retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority in 2004.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McCollum Haraway of Athens; one son, Mark Haraway and wife Kelly of Hartselle; two daughters, Leigh Stinnett and husband Gary, and Sarah Haraway, all of Athens; one sister, Judy Johnson and husband Jimmy of Tanner; six grandchildren, Mack, Mitchell, Aidan, Logan, Madelyn and Samuel.

Pallbearers are Gerald Hooper, Cecil Armstrong, Bill Wrenn, Billy Warden, Andy Warden, Bob Warden and Neil Whitt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 111 Mt. Nebo Road, Falkville, AL 35622, or your favorite charity.
