David Wilson Smith, 74, 32nd degree Mason of Athens, AL, passed away in his sleep on Saturday, November 25, 2017 after being diagnosed with lung cancer that had metastasized. He is survived by his only child, a son, Jack Smith of NC, two grandchildren, his sister, Sandra Smith of NC, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins also in NC.
David was born in Baltimore, MD September 16, 1943 to Woodrow W. and Anna Belle R. Smith and graduated in 1962 from Rock Springs High School in Denver, NC. He retired in 1995 from General Motors.
