He was born on May 2, 1955, in Limestone County, AL to Buford Marion Sims and Irene Russell Sims.
Doyce was a hard-working farmer for 30 years. He was a loving father, and doating grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Doyce is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Mrs. Virginia Sims, one son Justin Sims, three daughters Carrie Sims Evans (Jeremy), Beth Lamar (Daniel) and Rebecca Sims, three brothers, seven sisters, and ten grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be Monday October 19, 2026, at 2 P.M. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Doug Colwell officiating.
Visitation will be Monday October 19, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fielding Cemetery.
