Gerald Randy Fossett

Graveside Service for Gerald Randy Fossett will be Monday, November 16, 2015, at noon at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, Alabama, with Neal Flum officiating. Visitation will be 11-11:45 AM Monday at McConnell Funeral Home. Mr. Fossett passed away November 13, 2015, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Randy was born on August 20, 1938 to Virgil and Ovelle Fossett of Albertville, Alabama. He received a basketball scholarship to Athens College, where he met his wife Beth. Mr. Fossett owned Fossett Auto Glass in Athens, Decatur , and Albertville, Alabama, for years, before retiring. He lovedhis family, his dog Dusty, and Alabama Football. He was preceded in death by his parents,and sister, Dorothy Fossett NeSmith of Albertville. Randy and Beth were married on August 13, 1961. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beth Bailey Fossett, of Athens; daughters, Melanie Fossett Varnell and husband Tom of the Woodlands, Texas; and Mary Beth Fossett of Athens; and grandsons Paul Varnell and Will Varnell of The Woodlands, Texas and three nephews and one niece. Pallbearers are Paul Watson Varnell, William Thomas Varnell, Neal Howard Flum, William Ray “Trey” Bailey, III, Daniel Wright, and Clay Crocker. Honorary pallbearers are Edward NeSmith, Steven NeSmith , Kerry NeSmith, Eddie NeSmith.
