Glena Fay Blackwell

Glena Fay Blackwell, 77, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Athens Health and Rehab. She was born on May 30, 1948, in Limestone County to Samuel Carlos Blackwell, Sr. and Loretta Vinson Blackwell.

Glena is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Thelma Copeland and brother-in-law, Ralph; two brothers, Samuel Blackwell, Jr. and James Edward Blackwell.

Glena graduated from West Limestone High School in 1966. She worked as a seamstress at several sewing factories.

She enjoyed camping and riding around with her sister-in-law looking for deer and admiring their beauty.

Survivors include her brother, Danny Blackwell and wife Joyce; one sister-in-law, Linda Blackwell; one nephew, Billy Blackwell; two nieces, Tammy Smith and Karen Weaver; several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at McConnell Funeral Home from 1-2 P.M. with a chapel service to follow at 2. Greg Patrick will be officiating. Burial will be at Athens City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Blackwell, Michael Cottles, Tim Siniard, Luther Neal, Bobby Nails, and Jason Haggard.
