The Funeral Service for Hollis Walden Kennedy, 75, of Athens, will be Wednesday July 10, 2019 at 2 P.M. at McConnell Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday July 10, 2019 from 12-1:45 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Moss, Sylvester Martinez, Adan Celiz, Nicholas Kennedy, Kellan Bethke and Will Ogles.

Mr. Kennedy passed away on Monday July 8, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born December 31, 1943 in Limestone County, AL; to Harry E. Kennedy and Dora Lucille Hamley. Mr. Kennedy is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Deanna Kennedy Burgreen, three brothers Richard Kennedy, Glenn Kennedy, and Kenneth Kennedy; two sisters Sarah Baugher and Carolyn Lovell.

He was in the house moving & excavating business his entire adult life. He retired in 2006. Mr. Kennedy was a member of Copeland Presbyterian Church, later he attended First Baptist Church in Athens. He was a fine man of integrity.

Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife Marsha Pepper Kennedy of 58 years of Athens, AL, one son Keith Kennedy and wife Melissa of Athens, AL, one daughter Jackie Kennedy of Athens, AL, one brother Donald Kennedy and wife Janice of Toney, AL, seven grandchildren Sara Chandler Ogles and husband Will of Athens, AL, Channing Kennedy Bethke and husband Kellan of Rapid City, SD, Nicholas Kennedy and wife Irene of Athens, AL, Lacey Kennedy of Birmingham, AL, Kennedy Burgreen, Mary Burgreen and Lily Burgreen all of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, five great grandchildren Abbie Ogles, Andy Ogles, Kegan Bethke, Kora Kennedy, and Leona Bethke.
