

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Hays was born March 24, 1930, and passed away Friday, June 4, 2010.
Mrs. Hays was born July 26, 1931, and passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010.
They were members of Market Street Church of Christ.
Married on Aug. 26, 1949, Mr. and Mrs. Hays were preceded in death by an infant son.
Surviving children are sons, Mike Hays and wife Freda, Scott Hays and wife, Kim; daughters, Dana Pope and husband Larry, Beverly Conn and husband Greg; 11 grandchildren, Mary Jane Hays, Betsy Hays, Amy Hays, Bailey Hays, Blair Hays, and Grayson Hays, Brenna Pope English and husband John, Lisa Pope Payton and husband Terry, Mandy Conn James and husband Jared, Heath Conn and wife JoDare, and Michael Conn; seven great-grandchildren, Austin and Brayden English; Tanner Payton; Kate and Chandler James; Lincoln and Dustin Jo Conn.
Mr. Hays was preceded in death by parents John Berry Hays and Edna McCall Hays; brothers, Frank and Loyd Hays; sisters, Lorene McMeans and Jeanette Gatlin.
He has one surviving brother, Fred Hays.
Mrs. Hays was preceded in death by parents Charles Wesley “Charlie” Dungy and Estelle Dungy; brother, Charles Edward “Buddy” Dungy; sisters, Annie Wallace and Marie Couch. She has one surviving brother, James Dungy, and one surviving sister, Dee Black.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
Proud of their titles, “Mawmaw” and “Pop,” Mr. and Mrs. Hayes were devoted to each other, their children and extended families.
Mr. Hays’ hobby was woodworking. His career as a master carpenter included furniture and homebuilding. He was building inspector for State of Alabama from 1968-1971. He was construction superintendent at Intergraph Corp. He founded Hays Industrial Woodcrafts and retired in 2002. He is a Korean War veteran.
Mrs. Hays’ hobbies included cooking, canning and baking. She was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
