Funeral service for Mr. JB Ivey, age 81 of Athens, will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with brother Rick Craft officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 28, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Ivey passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Athens Health and Rehab. He was born Oct. 1, 1936 in Limestone County to Hubert S. Ivey and Annie Lily Burrough Ivey. He liked to fish and he was a member of First Church in Athens. He served four years in the national guards. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Ivey of Elkmont; five daughters, Darlene Harbin of Athens; Diane Ivey of Athens; Janette Kelley and husband Mike of Athens; Reginia Clark and husband Marty of New Hope; Cynthia Thompson and husband Larry of Huntsville; one brother, Frank Ivey of Huntsville; three sisters, Mable Hambrick of Huntsville; Lorene Bearden of Toney; Gracie Landers of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Valarie Gregory, Christopher Seymour, Christy Davis, April Ivey, Missy Ivey, Clinton Winkles, Angela Clark, Leonard Clark, Yvonne Clark, Destiny Ivey, Michael Kelley, Bradley Kelley and Dewayne Harbin and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Leonard Clark, Donald Perry, Joey Ivey, Clinton Winkles, Jody Dempsey and David Ivey.
