Jennifer Lynn Hawkins

After being diagnosed with kidney disease in 2023, Jennifer fought with unwavering courage and determination. She was born August 25, 1969, and was the daughter of James Erskine and Mary Sue Higginbotham.

She was a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Jennifer is survived by her husband of 36 years, John David Hawkins, her son James Alan Hawkins, her brother Chris Higginbotham. Jennifer will also be remembered by many extended family members and friends who loved her, as well as her dog, Tigger.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her brother Donald Duane “Don” Higginbotham.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at McConnell Funeral Home from 11:30am to 12:30pm, a graveside service in her honor will be held at Bottoms Cemetery at 1pm with Brother Mike Green officiating.

The Family and Friends are invited to the home of Doug Higginbotham after the burial.

Pallbearers will be Doug Higginbotham, Cody Burton, Steve Miles, Ryan Higginbotham, Ray Higginbotham, and Corey Higginbotham.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Jennifer’s memory to Athens-Limestone Kidney Association.
