

John attended Ardmore High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1982. During his time in the Navy, he served aboard the submarine USS Von Steuben.
John enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and the memories he created with those closest to him.
John is survived by his loving wife, Terri Davidson; daughters, Brook White and Breah Williams; four grandchildren, Ansley White, Emmitt White, Silas Williams, and Sutton Williams; brother, Neal Davidson; and sisters, Gay Ulrich and Cindy Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Schaub Davidson and Robert Wilson Davidson.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and in the many cherished memories they shared together.
