Kenneth Wood

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home

Mr. Wood was born March 15, 1948, in Huntsville to Luther Roy Wood and Mildred Maple Atchley. He graduated from Lake Center High School in 1967 in St. John, Ind. He spent 20 years long haul truck driving. He received awards for his military service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan Wesley.

He is survived by daughter, Angela Carey of Athens; son, Kenneth R. Wood Jr., of Gary Ind.; brothers, Lige Atchley of Athens, Timmy Atchley, Jessy Atchley, Ricky Atchley, all of New Hope; sisters, Brenda Wood and Linda Gowan of New Hope; four grandchildren, Danielle Sizemore, Chris Carey, Dawn Carey and Natasha Carey, all of Athens; three great-grandchildren, Logan, 7, Brad, 6, and Arianna, 4.

Other survivors include nephews, Larry Honea, Scotty Honea, Kens Pontiess, Russell Wesley, Joe Atchley, Greg Gowan, Chad Gowan, James Gown and Anthony Atchley; nieces, Becky Wesley, Annitte Wesley, Alonia Wesley and Holly Wesley.

Pallbearers will be James Gowan, Russell Wesley, Ken Wood Jr., Chris Carey, Larry Honea and Greg Gowan.
