Kent Harlow Poteete

Kent was born in Athens, AL and preceded in death by his parents, John D. Poteete and Winnie Coffman of Elkmont, AL; Kent was a loving husband to Doreen (Dee) Diaz; father to Harlow Penelope Poteete (Washinton, D.C.), John Andrew Poteete (N. GA), Bridgette (Josh) Moubray (Loganville, GA); and grandpa (Hopper) to Sophia, Cayson and Olivia; brother to Delite (David) Fedusenko of Prattville and Elkmont, AL.

Kent graduated from Control Data (Atlanta ) and spent his 40-year career in technology. His hobbies were lighting and sound for Atlanta Bands/Artists and most recently churches. His passions were serving his family, motorcycling, hiking, unique gift giving and thoughtful cards. Kent was known for his creative sense of humor, fun halloween costumes, compassionate heart and fun mischief making on an occasion or two. Kent was an active leader in his AA groups and provided technology support for a daily zoom meeting of friends.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Athens City Cemetery.
