The funeral service for Marjorie Hendricks Riggins, age 80 of Athens, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Tanner United Methodist Church with Ralph Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Riggins was born July 5, 1934 in Limestone County to Nelson Hendricks and Eunice Freeman Hendricks. She graduated from Athens High School in 1952, and she attended Montevallo University. Mrs. Riggins was a loving wife and mother, and a member of Tanner United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Riggins is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Billy Hendricks.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Riggins, two sons, Walter B. Riggins and wife Sandra of Troy, VA; Donald B. Riggins, Jr. and wife Laurel of Athens; 2 sisters, Mary Jo Cooper of Athens; Martha Cole of Decatur; 7 grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Jerry, Madalyn, Abby, Hillary, and Addison Riggins.
