

Loving wife, mother, and grandmother
Mary Jean Bossong, 80, passed away in her home in Athens, Alabama at 3:15 pm on Sunday, June 9th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
Born on April 5, 1944 in Carbondale, Illinois, Mary lived a long and happy life, positively impacting the lives of anyone who crossed her path.
Mary was survived by her husband of over 55 years, Larry K. Bossong, and their three children: Tracy Dean Bossong (Michelle), Travis Lee Bossong (Denise), and Trisha Rae Bossong (Curt Schollmier). Mary was also a devoted grandmother to several lucky grandchildren: Taylor Rodriguez (Brandon), Kendall O’Connor, Luke Boudreau, Noah Boudreau, Jake Fox, Cassi Schwarz (Trevor), Rachael Mejias (Austin), Haylee Gahart, Dayne Gahart, Amanda Bossong, and David Harris, Monica Harris and Matthew Harris; and a great-grandmother to Kynlee and Callie.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Christina Bigler (2008) and father, Ben Bigler (1991).
Mary prided herself on her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation will be Sunday June 16, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life in honoring Mary at 3 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel.
