Mary Frances “Fancy” Wilbanks, 88 of Athens, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at her residence. She was born on February 7, 1937, to Claud R. Brakefield and Lottie Higginbotham Brakefield.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy Ray Wilbanks and son in law Russell O’Neil.
Fancy retired from Prestolite in Decatur, AL. She worked at the Salvation Army for 10 years. Fancy sure loved her doggies Chewy, Patches and her Kitty cat Bananas.
Survivors include her son Claud “Richard” Wilbanks; two daughters, DeShawn O’Neil and Amber Boyd grandchildren Ercia Wilbanks and Matt Wilbanks (Kira); great-grandchildren Jaxson, Kendra and Wynter.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Boyd, Matt Wilbanks, Erica Wilbanks, Emily Ghadimi, Justin Ghadimi, and Noah Ghadimi.
Visitation will be Saturday September 13, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday September 13, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Debbie Eubanks officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
