

Patricia Hatchett, 84, of Athens, Alabama, died peacefully at her home this past Tuesday, October 21st. Supported, comforted and cared by Hospice of Limestone County, her son Carl, and dedicated caregiver, Melinda Nydegger. Patricia has entered into eternal life as a faithful Catholic, and is welcomed by a great number of the Hatchett, Anders, Clarke, Lemley and Sullivan families.
She is survived by her son, William Carl Hatchett III of Birmingham, AL, niece Debbie Roberson of Nashville, TN, niece Julie Dunlevy of Louisville, KY, niece Patricia Armstrong of Chicago, IL, and niece Marla Falls of Tuscaloosa, AL. Patricia is affectionally known as “GAP, Great Aunt Patricia” to many children of family relations. Her beloved pets, Moose and Mickey, were a source of tremendous love and tenderness.
Mother. Wife. Sister. Sister-in-Law. Aunt. Friend. Graduate of the University of Alabama. Delta Gamma. Educator, Teacher and Mentor. Catholic. Alabama-native and Historian. Involved Community Resident with Learn-To-Read. Most notably is Patricia’s 30+ year commitment to public school education within the Athens City School System.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of Limestone County in Patricia’s Memory are very much appreciated.

There will be a funeral mass at St Paul's Catholic Church Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Athens City Cemetery.
