Rosa was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama.
She was the daughter of Thelma Carter Schild and Henry Jacob Schild.
Rosa was predeceased by her husband Thomas Westmoreland Witt, sisters, Marion Schild Bates and Jane Schild Davis and a nephew, Joseph Henry Davis.
She is survived by her nieces; Kathy Davis Bevans (Fred) (Wilmington, DE), Rebecca Bates Umbaugh(Bill) (Big Canoe, GA), Jenny Bates Halsey (Tom) (Big Canoe, GA), and nephew Marty Davis (Lisa) (Huntsville), Great nieces, Katie Bevans Patterson and Molly Bevans Van Sickle, 2 great great nieces and 2 great great nephews (Wilmington, DE)
Rosa lived in Huntsville until she and Tommy moved to Athens, Alabama after they married.
Rosa’s many talents included cooking, sewing, quilting and working puzzles. She was famous for her pound cakes and her knitted "Rosa rags". She was the proud host of many family gatherings at the log cabin.
Many thanks to Sharon and Curtis Grissom, her lifelong friends, who were always by her side when her family couldn’t be there and to Gary Livingston who was her caring and helpful neighbor.
Rosa will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Rosa was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville and then Athens.
