

He was born August 28, 1940 to Samuel Carlos Blackwell, Sr., and Loretta Vinson.
Samuel worked at Advanced Auto Parts, owned a lawn mower shop (S & L Lawn Mower Repair) and drove was a truck driver for 38 years. He was a jack-of-all-trades, master at nothing, yet perfect in every way.
He is preceded in to death by his parents, one sister Thelma Blackwell Copeland, one brother James Edward Blackwell and his late wife Judy Hone Blackwell.
Samuel is survived by his loving wife Linda Blackwell of 24 years, two sons Billy Blackwell, Michael Cottles (Gail), two daughters Tammy Smith, and Subrina Harmon, one sister Glena Fay Blackwell, and one brother Danny Blackwell (Joyce) , eight grandchildren Laura Clark (Kevin), Chris Walker (Lindsey), Shelby Harmon, Ronnie Lynn Harmon, Cory Cottles, Tyler Cottles, and Dylan Cottles, Alesia Pennington, eleven great grandchildren JT Sparkman, Mackenzie Sparkman, Emily Sparkman, Brian Cottles, Dalton Boyd, Samuel Walker, Carley Clark, Caley Clark, Coen Clark, Hayden Hardaway, and Gretta Cox.
Funeral Services will be Saturday February 26, 2022 at 12 P.M. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Leon McCafferty, and Bill Marks officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Pepper, Johnny Scruggs, Ronnie Cottles, Michael Cottles, Bobby Nails, and Tim Siniard.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Michael Browing.
