Thomas Kirtland Walden, 79, of Harvest, AL formerly of Pompano Beach, FL passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Elk River Health and Rehabilitation of Ardmore. He was born July 25, 1940 in Putnam, CT.
Known to friends and family as “Kirt”, he was a talented swimmer and diver in his youth. He took college courses at Auburn and Athens before joining the U.S. Navy. Following a long career in sales, he worked as an armed security guard before he retired.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, hunting, shooting, fishing, being in nature and on the water. His hobbies included making intricate hand-crafted jewelry and boats.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Walden and Arlene Niles Walden.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Loree Berg, one daughter Elisa Walden of Harvest; one sister Mary Buchanan and husband Bill, one niece Julie Buchanan.
