Visitation will be Wednesday October 3, 2018 from 10-10:45 A.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Marshall passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at his residence.
He was born December 16, 1967 in Athens, AL to Dwight L. Marshall and Nancy J. Johnson.
Mr. Marshall was a software engineer for Northrop Grumman for 15 years. He graduated in 1986 from East Limestone High school. He attended Calhoun and the University of Alabama before graduating from Athens State with a BS degree in computer science. Later in life, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of studying the law, when he graduated from Birmingham School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He was not only a fan, but he was a youth baseball and football official and a volunteer coach for all his children’s activities. He was a member of Friendship Methodist Church.
He served in the Army and volunteered with the Alabama National Guard during the Persian Gulf War. While in the Army, he served 3 years in Baumholder, Germany. He took advantage of his European assignment and traveled extensively during this time. He volunteered to return to active duty and served 6 months in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia during the Persian Gulf War.
Mr. Marshall is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Pamela Lynn Tolen Marshall of Athens, AL; one son, William Brody Marshall of Athens, AL; one daughter, Peyton Elizabeth Marshall of Athens, AL; mother and stepfather, Nancy and Perry Johnson of Trinity, AL; father, Dwight L. Marshall of Athens, AL; one brother David Allen Marshall and wife Betty of Athens, AL; one sister, Nanette Marshall Hudspeth and husband Jeff of Lafayette, AL.
Pallbearers will be David Marshall, Dee Holland, Andrew Hughes, James Tolen, Jeff Wood, and Mark Lee.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Prater, Ken Trent, Shane McGregor, and Tim Morris.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
